17A – Elevator Pitch No. 2

Elevator Pitch Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COOVoqZeVlk Reflection and Conclusion As mentioned in previous assignments, I switched my idea since my last elevator pitch so it would not be easy to compare a few aspects of the pitch. However, I do believe that in my second pitch I appeared way more confident and surer of myself. I think that throughout pitch #1 I paused a lot and said “like” and “ugh” several times which made the pitch seem unclear in certain parts and distracted the attention of the viewer. Even though my idea has been changed completely, I believe that my overall performance was a lot better but that I still have a long way before perfecting it. I hope that I receive feedback in this attempt so I can work on the aspects that I am lacking throughout my pitch.

19A – Idea Napkin No. 2

Part 1 - Elements 1)      You: My name is Dimitrios Karellos-Gleoudis, but everyone calls me Dimitri or Dimi. I am a student at the University of Florida, and I am 21 years old. I am from Greece but lived in Miami, Florida for about 5 years before getting to Gainesville. I speak 3 languages, English, Greek, and Spanish and have interned at a lot of places throughout my high school and college life. I have also traveled a lot with my family and alone. I once participated in a non-profit organization in Cuzco, Peru, teaching Peruvian kids English on a 14000-foot mountain. I consider myself to be very social and enjoy the company of people. I also think of myself as compassionate and care a lot about people. Furthermore, I can adopt to change really fast and have traits of a leader which I think are very important, especially when it comes to entrepreneurship. 2)      What: My product is a carry-on bag that has an electrical scooter attached ...

18A – Create a Customer Avatar

Image
My customer is a middle-aged man or woman with a strong passion or tendency to drive for leisure or as a requirement of their job. They enjoy traveling in class and envy presenting a socioeconomic status for themselves. They are single or have a small family. My avatar customer is a 28-year-old single man who enjoys an active lifestyle and has a lot of outdoor interests. Traveling is a big part of his life and he visits places all over the world, some, with vast airports. He enjoys a good work out but is also very tired after the long, connected flights that he must take for his sale representative job at Wave Corporation. His parents are both dentists, but he decided to chase a career as an “explorer” and longs for new adventures both for leisure and work. He likes fast cars and has Chevy Camaro. He is fond of the ride to a place but also desires to get from one place to the next as fast a possible. He also enjoys being up to date with the latest trends and is a big fashion guru. He o...

16A –What’s Your Secret Sauce?

1)      My opinion I believe that my secret salsa is compromised from a few key attributes, specifically, five of them. believe that two of my most important aspects of my personality is that I am a people person. I am very social and can adapt to different social circles. I think this is partly due to the fact that I came from a different country and had to adapt to a completely new environment. Another attribute that makes up my secret sauce is my ability to understand new material in a fast manner. I think this is significant especially when it comes to business as the market is always changing and one needs to be able to follow this changing patterns. Furthermore, I think that another way I provide human capital is that I speak different language. I came from Greece a few years back and speak it fluently. I also consider English a first language to me and I can understand and speak some Spanish. Even though not a lot of people speak Greek anymore, I think that ...

15A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 2

ü   To reiterate, my segment consists of consumers who enjoy, or are required, to travel a lot, are middle-aged, and enjoy traveling in class. For my interviews, I picked 5 consumers, Ioane, Maria, Megan, George, and Brad that fit said segment and that seem to have a need. ü   Interviews: Female Interviewee, middle aged, single: Ioane has traveled all over the world due to her job requirements and has been to several small and large airports. When she is at a large airport, she usually checks in her suitcase and walks to her terminal with her carry-on. She usually stops at some point to eat before reaching her designated terminal. Sometimes there is a train that takes her closer to her terminal, but sometimes she has to walk literal miles before reaching her destination. What matters most to her is convenience. After long connected flights, she is usually exhausted and just wants to reach her destination so she can get on her next flight and rest. She does not shop a lot f...

14A – Halfway Reflection

Image
1)      Tenaciousness is a competency When I first started this course, I dreaded the workload required by this course, new assignments every week and constant lectures and quizzes. I believe this was due to some of my personality traits that I am not so fond of, such as procrastination. I had to learn to be a lot more proactive in order to be able to be up to date with the latest deadlines and assignments. Besides proactivity, another trait I have been using throughout this course is creativity. I believe that, while not a requirement, creativity plays a key role in this particular class, especially when it comes to coming up with ideas and solutions for your product or service. Lastly, I think determination and patience are also a significant traits that I have developed throughout this course. Being determined to achieve your goals and patient when things do not work out (as they quite often don’t, especially with some assignments) are very important in doing go...

13A – Reading Reflection No. 1

Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future   I decided to read Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future a biography of Elon Musk written by Ashlee Vance. This book really made me thin about a lot of things both in my personal life and about the society we live in general. It also boosted my motivation when I read it and I believe it promoted the idea that you can achieve anything as long as you have the right vision and will power to get there. I think what surprised me the most about Elon Musk is his personality. When Ashlee Vance decided to interview Musk, she didn’t know what to expect and she mentions that when she sat down with him, she was startled by his behavior. I believe that Musk’s erratic and rather awkward personality is what surprises me the most in the book. He is very cruel to a lot of his employees throughout his business plans and demands an unimaginable amount of work and dedication from them. Musk has a lot of compet...

12A – Figuring Out Buyer Behavior No. 1

·         The consumers of my product are going to be people who love to travel, or that there jobs require them to do so, about middle to younger aged, with a hunger for the unknown and who are tired of spending most of their time at airports walking and carrying their heavy luggage. My segment is also going to include individuals who appreciate traveling in class. ·         Interviews o    Ted: My dad has traveled a lot, both for business and pleasure and has an active lifestyle. He is a little bit out of my segment, age-wise being 50 years old but I believe his active lifestyle makes up for that. I questioned him about this perceived need, and he confirmed that it has existed from time to time throughout his life. He mentioned to me that especially when he was forced to travel for work on a frequent schedule, the distances of certain airports were sometimes an issue. He informed me that he had missed ...

My talents and skills include music production and disc jockeying, learning material in a fast manner, and speaking different languages. I also have extensive social skills and consider myself a “people person.” Furthermore, I believe that arriving to the United States from a different country, really helped me learn how to adapt to new environments and overcome obstacles that come with it. I am studying business at the University of Florida and minoring in Spanish and have worked at a couple of different places, mostly interning. I have interned at several non-profits in different countries, such as Greece and Peru, and at a cellular company’s marketing team and different positions in a hotel. 9A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 2

Continuing My Opportunity Research 1) I interviewed 5 Disc Jockeys from an organization I work for, House Hats. I conducted 5 interviews with students from the University of Florida that, for one reason or another, have experienced this unmet need. They all weren't satisfied with their current progress or the path they were following, relating to their DJ experience and performance. A) Who: The customers that could fall outside my boundary would be the DJs that are proficient but haven't been enjoying their performance as much due to Covid-19, the virus that has been spreading lately.  B) What: The need I have identified, DJs not being satisfied with their performance and/or skill level, differs from DJs that have the skill level but purely don't have the right connection or haven't put in an necessary amount of time to land the gigs they want. It is also different from the need that has arisen from the current virus spread, preventing DJs from being able to perform at ...

10A – Elevator Pitch No. 1
