11A – Idea Napkin No. 1
1)
I am a currently a student at the University of
Florida. I am initially from Greece and lived there for a significant part of
my life. I speak fluent Greek, English, and intermediate Spanish. My talents
and skills include music production and disc jockeying, learning material in a
fast manner, and speaking different languages. I also have extensive social
skills and consider myself a “people person.” Furthermore, I believe that
arriving to the United States from a different country, really helped me learn
how to adapt to new environments and overcome obstacles that come with it. I am
studying business at the University of Florida and minoring in Spanish and have
worked at a couple of different places, mostly interning. I have interned at several
non-profits in different countries, such as Greece and Peru, and at a cellular
company’s marketing team and different positions in a hotel. I DJ around Gainesville
and I am part of Greek life at the University of Florida, which, I believe, comes
in very handy when it comes to connections and other aspects.
2)
I decided to switch my idea as I believe I have discovered
an untapped market. Just as companies make small, manual scooters attached to
suitcases for kids, I have decided to pursue the same idea for adults. This is
scooters are not going to be manual, but electrical. I believe a need exists
for businessmen and women who are traveling to and from their various business trips
and are tired of having to carry their suitcases everywhere. I want to make a light
electrical device that will be able to transport a person to their terminal in
airports, while, simultaneously, carrying their luggage along with them.
3)
I believe that the segment I am targeting
includes people that have the economic comfort to purchase such product. I am
also targeting a specific age group ranging from 21 to 45 and it’s going to be
made for any sex. The product is also going to be made for active individuals
and advertised as a product made for someone with an active and “business-like”
lifestyle. It’s also going to be aimed to represent class.
4)
I believe that besides the socioeconomic and
psychographic profile of this product, it’s going to be very efficient and
convenient for a lot of weary travelers. I think that it has a lot of potential,
especially for places such as airports. I think a lot of people are going to be
interested in this product as some airports are just too long of a walk and this
product would promote convenience for them.
5)
I did some research and have not found anyone
that has made this model. There exist suitcases that are ridable and you can
sit on them while they take you to your destination, but I believe that this
product is unique in a way that promotes class and a certain look while being ridden.
Another product that exists are suitcases for kids that have manual
(non-electrical) scooters (my 10 year old sister owns one).
