8A – Solving The Problem

1)      Problem The opportunity I have identified is in regards to the need that exists from DJs that are not sufficiently satisfied with their performance and skill level and who are seeking a better way to understand the skill of mixing music using a DJ console. 2)      Solution The solution I have identified in regards to the need, is a service that will teach the DJs in need the skill of mixing music in an artistic manner that will eventually allow them to perform at their desired location (clubs, bars, parties, even their own living room).

7A – Testing the Hypothesis, Part 1

1) The opportunity I would like to pursue is a Disc Jockey school. 2) The opportunity consists of the formation of a Disc Jockey school for students of any age to learn how to mix music for cheap due to the high prices of competition in this field. 3) A lot of DJs struggle with progress skill-wise and performance-wise but not all have this need. A lot of schools exist already and those that can afford them have been using them. There also exist customers outside my "who" who have this issue, who are not necessarily students. The boundaries are potential customers that have already been through DJ school or have mastered skills on their own. Boundaries also include students who have a strong passion for music but not disc jockeying. The whys for the group of customers I have identified with the need to be taught how to mix, include being unable to progress and perform in the way they want to. 4) Interviews Jack: I spoke with Jack on Zoom. Jack has been DJing for...

6A – Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

1) Economic Trend: U.S. Consumed More Renewables Than Coal for First Time in 134 Years https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-consumed-more-renewables-than-coal-for-first-time-in-134-years-11590691919?mod=business_lead_pos6 According to  U.S. Consumed More Renewables Than Coal for First Time in 134 Years,  an opportunity exists to invest in renewable energy sources. This article is directly correlated with the economy because coal and its substitutes play a huge role in the global economy. I believe this opportunity exists because from the statistics presented by the article, more renewable energy has been used. Investing in renewable energy such a machinery that stray away from coal would have successful earnings. The people affected by this would be the entire population, but the opportunity would be tough and expensive to exploit, due to the cost of renewable energy consuming machinery. I saw this opportunity due to the fact that I am a huge renewable energy advocate. I am...

5A – Identifying Local Opportunities

1) Silver Knights are extraordinary. The ceremony honoring them was anything but ordinary. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/education/article243058181.html In summary, the article is praising Silver Night nominees, a volunteer activity competition. The article is shining light to the honorary nominees of this award. The problem is that the current Covid-19 virus is disrupting the nomination and the traditional ceremony. The people hosting the ceremony, the nominees, and the proud parents attending said ceremony, have the problem. 2) Memorial held for boy with autism found dead in SW Miami-Dade lake https://wsvn.com/news/local/miami-dade/memorial-held-for-boy-with-autism-found-dead-in-sw-miami-dade-lake/ The article talks about a devastating story of a child with autism losing his life to his mothers own hands. The issue is that a boy with autism passed away. The people that care about the boy and his community as a whole. 3) Heading to a Miami-D...

4A – Forming An Opportunity Belief

1) I believe there exists an opportunity for forming a disc jockey school. For young DJs to learn how to spin. 2)  I think the need that exists is for people that want to learn how to mix music and follow/discover their passion. I believe the need has always existed but that due to Covid-19, it’s even greater to some extent. There exist websites that teach you how to DJ already as well as YouTube videos so a lot of my potential customers have been using them. I am 80% sure this opportunity exists. 3) My prototypical customer would be a high school graduate/college student attempting to chase his dream disc jockeying but that has been unable to do so thus far due to financial/other setbacks. 4) Interview 1 Prototypical Customer: Jack - has been attempting to get into DJing but hasn’t had the right motivation and knowledge to do so. I interviewed Jack through zoom and he informed me that he has been attempting to get into DJing for some time now. His need is related to h...

3A – Your Entrepreneurship Story

Image
I have personally not been involved with entrepreneurship much throughout my life even though the concept has always amazed me. I have mostly been involved with volunteer activities throughout middle/highschool and not sought for opportunities of financial risk. However, I have someone in my life that has and his ability to manipulate entrepreneurship in the way that he did had a great impact on me. When we first moved to the U.S. from my home country, Greece, roughly six years ago, my father had no job, no acquaintances, and generally felt astray, as we all did. After a few months of unemployment he decided to invest in an entrepreneurship opportunity in retail. He decided to buy off a house and flip it in order to accommodate students as dormitories. He flipped on his own with no previous experience in retail, including all aspects of it; electrical, plumbing and design. A few weeks later it was ready and from there his business took off. My dad was the entrepreneur that...
