3A – Your Entrepreneurship Story


  1. I have personally not been involved with entrepreneurship much throughout my life even though the concept has always amazed me. I have mostly been involved with volunteer activities throughout middle/highschool and not sought for opportunities of financial risk. However, I have someone in my life that has and his ability to manipulate entrepreneurship in the way that he did had a great impact on me. When we first moved to the U.S. from my home country, Greece, roughly six years ago, my father had no job, no acquaintances, and generally felt astray, as we all did. After a few months of unemployment he decided to invest in an entrepreneurship opportunity in retail. He decided to buy off a house and flip it in order to accommodate students as dormitories. He flipped on his own with no previous experience in retail, including all aspects of it; electrical, plumbing and design. A few weeks later it was ready and from there his business took off.
  2. My dad was the entrepreneur that got me into business and a reason why a decided to choose this class, Principles of Entrepreneurship. To this day I aspire to be a part of his work or to begin an entrepreneurship of my own. I believe this class will help me a lot to achieve my goal and become the man who I want to be.

1)      Tenaciousness is a competency When I first started this course, I dreaded the workload required by this course, new assignments every week and constant lectures and quizzes. I believe this was due to some of my personality traits that I am not so fond of, such as procrastination. This article is directly correlated with the economy because coal and its substitutes play a huge role in the global economy. 1)     Venture Concept 1 ( with changes) My idea is revolved around a new product-based idea. The idea is a carry-on bag that has an electrical scouter attached on it. I had the idea sitting at an airport with my family, after four connected flights we had to take and attempting to find our next terminal in the vast new airport of Istanbul. By looking at the model carry on luggage bags with manual scouters, I came up with the idea of an electrical scouter carry-on bag. My customer profile is individuals aging from 24-50, with a passion for traveling, or traveling as a requirement from their jobs. They could be single or have a family, traveling alone or with family. My consumers will also demand a certain degree of style and class and put a lot of emphasis on the “look” on my product.
